Glenkinchie, How I Love You So
A couple of years ago, I visited the Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh. I’m not gonna sugarcoat it here: it was a little bit of amazing rolled up in a bundle of awesome and sprinkled with rad-ness. Yeah, that good.
The tour includes a ride through a replicated distillery (by way of digital technology). Think of it as Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion meets Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin that has nothing to do with Disney and everything to do with whisky.

This is me containing my excitement.
If that doesn’t sound appealing to you, perhaps you should see a doctor about it.
Anyway, the place essentially solidified my love for Scotch whisky and, more importantly, introduced me to the liquid gold that is Glenkinchie. This is a lowland whisky distilled about ten miles south of Edinburgh. It’s matured in sherry casks that give it lighter, more citrus-y notes than most other lowland whiskies.
Fun fact (at least I consider it fun): The distillery has two of the largest stills in all of Scotland.
So, if you find yourself in Scotland and want to give the distillery a peek, check out their site before you do so: http://www.discovering-distilleries.com/glenkinchie/
Also, feel free to give me a holler. I’ll join you.
