The Booze-y SXSW
You guys! The Single Malt & Scotch Whisky Extravaganza is coming to town! It’s like the adult (Scotch-lovers’) circus, but instead of 20 clowns stuffed into a VW, you get 20 clowns stuffed into a hotel lobby.
Wait, what?
Yeah, you’ll have to excuse me. I was up late last night “researching” several different whiskies (no, not the cat food–no wait, that’s Whiskas. Nevermind).
The SMSW Experience, yes! For $135 (for non-members, $120 for members) here’s what you can expect:
- Taste over 110 single malt & Scotch whiskies (One hundred and ten. ONE HUNDRED AND TEN.)
- Savor a sumptuous buffet dinner (I love that word: sumptuous)
- Premium imported cigars for your later enjoyment (is it just me or does that sound dirty? Like Clinton-Lewinsky dirty. Sorry, carry on…)
- Robb Report magazines for attendees
- A souvenir tasting glass
- Raffle prizes
Their spring lineup included New York, Phoenix, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, and Denver; and the fall lineup includes Chicago, Boston, Washington DC, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Fort Lauderdale.
